                                                              exhibitors and the thousands of  boaters
                                                              that would attend,” Burke explained. “We’re
                                                              looking forward to presenting our show on the
                                                              new March dates and we believe the boaters
                                                              will respond as always.”
                                                                Ironically, the in-person boat show was scut-
                                                              tled last January (2020) by Covid-19, the first
                                                              time it was not staged in 64 consecutive years.
                                                              However, the boat dealers from across Ohio
                                                              as well as the more than 200 accessory, equip-
                                                              ment, marina and service exhibitors scheduled
                                                              for this January have already committed to be
                                                              there in March.
                                                                Burke also emphasized the show’s plans
                                                              to increase the entertainment and hands-
                                                              on activities planned for this January will not
                                                              change. “We reimagined the last show we
                                                              staged in 2020, just before Covid hit, to make it
                                                              a more experiential family event. People loved
                                                              it, so we’re adding even more of those features
                                                              for March this year,” Burke promised.
                                                                For example,  there will be a  new Paddle
                                                              Sports Center complete with pool to stage
                                                              live kayaking and paddle boarding demonstra-
                                                              tions. Fishermen will enjoy the best line-up of
                                                              fishing pros appearing on the Toyota Fishing
                                                              Center stage, as well as the Vic Sports Center’s
                                                              5000-gallon Berkley Bass Aquarium.
                                                                More  daily  live  entertainment  for  all  ages
                                                              is also being added, starring the return of the
                                                              popular “Twiggy the Water-Skiing Squirrel”
                                                              show. There will be an expanded “Central Park”
                                                              lawn and games area that proved so popular
                                                              last year, a first-ever Food Truck Rally, and the
                                                              Kid’s Center will boast more hands-on activ-
                                                              ities, face painters and a new magic show,
                                                              among other features.
                                                                Finally, there may be a real benefit in the
                                                              unanticipated rescheduling. During this time,
                                                              dealers can be expected to receive more boats
                                                              from builders that are currently struggling with
                                                              supply chain problems. More boats, a bigger
                                                              show, and it’s all just before the boating season
                                                              gets underway in the Buckeye State.
