More new features are added to boat show

      “Informative” and “family-friendly” are the watchwords for the newest additions

      to this year’s Progressive Catawba Island Boat Show that docks in the prestigious
      Catawba Island Club’s marina, April 28-30.
        Leading the newest features will be the ON-THE-WATER-OHIO Educational Pavilion. In
      addition to adult boating seminars ranging from “How to Navigate Lake Erie” to “Tips for
      Great First Mates”, an adjacent “Kids Discovery Zone” is being unveiled. It’s centered by a
      fisherman shack and boat and features hands-on activities like a knot-tying challenge and
      a kid’s reading station. Moreover, a team from Lakeside Chautauqua will be conducting arts
      and crafts projects with the kids.
        Elsewhere in the show area, visiting families will be able to enjoy a little down time at

                                                                                  the Firelands Family Patio. This special area features comfortable seating, lawn games and
                                                                                  even s’mores kits for all.
                                                                                   For adults desiring a break to take in the daily live musical entertainment scheduled
                                                                                  on the Progressive Main Stage, there will be the new “Bauman Auto Group Yacht Lounge”
                                                                                  boasting upscale comfort seating and appropriate beverage service.
                                                                                   Over all, this year’s show will present more than 125 power and sailboats surrounded by
                                                                                  nearly 100 accessory and service exhibits, the most in the show’s history. More than 10,000
                                                                                  boaters annually attend this summer kick-off festival.
