accessory exhibitors
MAY 2024 [ MID-AMERICA BOATING ] 12
Do you know what a Moin Moin is? How about a Standkorb? You
can find out when you shop the exhibits of everything nautical in
the nearly 100 accessory displays slated to exhibit at this year’s
Progressive Catawba Island Boat Show, April 26-28.
These popular exhibits literally encircle the Catawba Island Club’s marina
and the more than 100 power and sailboats docked up and ready for boarding.
While traditional yacht brokerage and service displays will be seen all
around, there is so much more to be found in the accessory exhibits this year.
For example, for the answer to the Standkorb question above, show visitors
will have to find the North Atlantic Trading Co. exhibit.
Meanwhile, a visit to the Beagle Bay Knot Works featuring an all things knotical with a wide
variety of hand-tied finished products using natural materials as well as the marlinspike
techniques passed down by generations of mariners.
Among the most popular exhibits every year is Sun Stoppers of Put-in-Bay. Literally hundreds
of boaters annually stock up with their summer shades from this long-standing exhibitor. And
you can don your new sunglasses when you take the wheel of the popular all electric golf carts
found at the Drew’s Custom Carts display.
In addition, this year there will be new displays from newcomers, like EMOTO Electric
Vehicles, as well as an exhibit by Burns GEM Cars. The latter will be introducing the latest
low-speed electric GEM cars to the Ohio lakefront region. And, while you’re driving around your
golf car, you can adorn it with the latest flag creations you’ll find at the Wavy Flags exhibit that
also features folding light poles, bungee dock lines, bollards, and other accessories.
Overall, from things to wear to things to do, visitors will enjoy the record number of accessory
displays and soak in the wide variety of activities and entertainment during the 3-day event
held in the prestigious Catawba Island Club where its grounds are open to the public only for
this one 3-day event each year.
